Leschi Home/Bath
Architect: GGLO Architecture
The owner of this Lake Washington home said he wanted "every room to tell a story and to be interesting to the eye." To do that, the bathroom was stripped back to the bare bones and reinvented based on the owner's tastes and lifestyle. The first thing to go was any sort of tub, which was replaced by a luxuriant shower with standard and overhead nozzles and six body jets. The remainder of the space is unfettered and uncluttered, with a single grooming/dressing area, and two vanities. One vanity stands alone with a raised glass bowl supported by a slate counter on stainless steel legs, with the faucet jutting from the wall. The bath also has a radiant-heated floor, which is covered with the same tiles as the walls. Skylights and awning windows bring in natural light.
